Substrate Falcon Series

To stay competitive in substrate, you need to go Falcon!
High-precisionlong-running
Substrate applications

Small hole diameters, complex materials, ever increasing hole counts - the challenges of substrate manufacturing processes are endless.

Schmoll's Falcon series machines help you to stay competitive, by offering industry-leading speed and accuracy. By combining high-precision linear drives with Schmoll's own CNC control algorithm, the Falcon series machines are the industry standard for substrate drilling processes, showing up to 25 % speed improvement over previous generation drilling machines. Additionally, temperature controlled process chambers allow for process stability, even for hour-long drill cycles.

HIGHLIGHTSOPTIONS

A selection of product highlights and configuration options.

High-speed spindles

Ever-decreasing hole diameters require faster and faster spindles. Schmoll machines rely on high-quality spindles of renowned manufacturers, to provide you with ultra-precision air bearing spindles that can ramp up to 300.000 rpm, while providing top of the class runout stability.

ACC - Auto Collet Clean

Reduce machine downtime while keeping your spindle collets perfectly maintained - the Schmoll Auto Collet Cleaning (ACC) makes it possible. ACC features an integrated fluid reservoir and reliably triggers a lubrication cycle to make sure collet holding forces and runout behavior remain stable. ACC will help reduce manual maintenance efforts and lets you focus on being productive.

Temperature regulated processing room

Especially for substrate applications with hundreds of thousands of holes per panel, a stable processing temperature is key to ensuring high accuracy and excellent quality. Schmoll machines can be configured to feature temperature-regulated processing chambers to ensure a stable drilling process, even for cycles with runtimes of 24 hours or more.

CCD camera alignment

Increase your registration accuracy by equipping your machine with Schmoll's Camera Compensated Drilling (CCD) technology. In combination with Schmoll's XY-table technology, specific alignment corrections can be applied to every panel on each station. It's a must-have for the latest backdrill applications with increasingly tighter backdrill diameter requirements.

XY-table technology

Schmoll XY-table technology allows for high-precision, station-specific application of registration alignment results for maximum accuracy. In combination with CCD cameras, shrink/stretch and rotation corrections can be applied on a work piece specific level to avoid sliver and other offset issues.
