Fixture Processing

The highest precision for the smallest tool diameters
FixtureSeries
Probe Card Processing

Processing complex technical materials like plastics and ceramics with micro-drilling tools, with diameters down to 20 micron, can be a challenging task. With the Schmoll Fixture series, you have the right machine tool at hand, to meet the tightest accuracy criteria. High-precision measurement scales  - down to a 5 nanometer resolution - alongside a temperature controlled processing chamber, allow the Fixture machines to perform with unrivaled accuracy. The linear-driven z-axis motor enables precise control over the drilling process to enable maximum process reliability.

HIGHLIGHTSOPTIONS

A selection of product highlights and configuration options.

High-speed spindles

Ever-decreasing hole diameters require faster and faster spindles. Schmoll machines rely on high-quality spindles of renowned manufacturers, to provide you with ultra-precision air bearing spindles that can ramp up to 300.000 rpm, while providing top of the class runout stability.

CCD camera alignment

Increase your registration accuracy by equipping your machine with Schmoll's CCD camera technology. In combination with Schmoll's XY-table technology, specific alignment corrections can be applied to every panel on each station. It's a must-have for the latest backdrill applications with increasingly tighter backdrill diameter requirements.

Microjet MQL system

The Schmoll Microjet system is a versatile Minimum Quantity Lubrication (MQL) system that provides lubrication and cooling for heavy-duty cutting operations. The specially designed pressure foot enables lubricant distribution directly into the cutting-zone. The system increases tool life and leads to improved surface and contour quality.

Temperature regulated processing room

Especially for substrate applications with hundreds of thousands of holes per panel, a stable processing temperature is key to ensuring high accuracy and excellent quality. Schmoll machines can be configured to feature temperature-regulated processing chambers to ensure a stable drilling process, even for cycles with runtimes of 24 hours or more.
