Printed Circuit Boards (PCBs) and substrate chip carriers are the base of these products and their fast developing industries. They are integrating the processing chips and components with human interface devices like screens, cameras and keyboards.
Following Moore’s law, miniaturization and the massive increase of communication speeds for these types of devices, require micromechanic processes in order to create thousands of microvia holes, interconnections and miniature structures.

Mechanical Drill/Rout
Schmoll Maschinen offers a range of mechanical drilling and routing machines tailored to the needs of high-volume PCB manufacturing. These machines are equipped with multiple spindles, allowing them to drill numerous products simultaneously with high precision.
Laser Drill/Cut
Customers in the PCB industry and related markets, like Solar and SemiCon, appreciate our comprehensive expertise in laser processing, as it makes us a valuable partner for high- and low volume production as well as research and development institutions. Schmoll laser machines are based on a natural granite platform with linear drives and direct linear measurement systems. Coupled with highly dynamic galvo scanners and premium laser sources, Schmoll laser systems guarantee highest precision and reliability.
Direct Imaging
Schmoll is offering cost-efficient solutions for Digital Direct Imaging, with modular-design machines that are built on a solid granite basis. The machines are equipped with high-power LED photoheads and DMD technology, enabling them to cover a broad spectrum of wavelengths - ranging from 365 nm to 420 nm. Schmoll MDI machines are suitable for different applications, such as resist and soldermask processing. At the same time, they enable stitching at the highest resolution.
Registration Solutions
The XRA³ series X-ray drilling machines and the Optiflex II post-etching punch machines are the optimal solution for referencing multi-layer PCBs. In combination with the available options, these machine series fulfill all requirements to perform at the highest level.
