Laser cutting works without touching the material at all. Instead of a rotating tool pressing into the board, a focused beam removes material exactly along the programmed contour — no mechanical stress, no tool wear, no dust from routing. That matters most where conventional methods reach their limits: thin, flexible, and rigid-flex circuits, sensitive assemblies, and geometries far too fine or too intricate for a milling tool. Contours are defined in data rather than in hardware, so a new outline is a new program, not a new tool.
Which beam does the cutting makes all the difference. Our portfolio covers a broad range of laser sources — UV nanosecond and UV picosecond, green picosecond, IR picosecond, and CO₂, with femtosecond UV and IR available on request. Short wavelengths and short pulses allow material to be removed with minimal heat input, so the cut is made without carbonization: no charred edges, no discoloration along the contour, no thermal damage to sensitive layers. For polyimide, flexible substrates, and fine structures, that clean edge is not a cosmetic detail — it is the difference between a part that passes and one that does not. Matching the right source to the right material is where experience counts.
