The year 2026 has officially begun, and it brings with it a fundamental question: What is the most important element in PCB production? Is it the high-speed machines? The advanced materials? Or the complex processes?
At Schmoll, we believe the answer is none of the above. It is the people. The engineers, designers, and support specialists are the ones who transform technical possibilities into real-world manufacturing solutions. To honor this, we are launching a monthly series featuring our 2026 Creative Calendar, which we recently presented to our global customers at major trade shows.
January Highlight: Post-Etch Punch (PEP) Technology
The first page of our calendar is dedicated to Post-Etch Punch (PEP) technology. This critical process is essential for inner layer alignment prior to lamination, serving mainly PIN-LAM but also sometimes MASS-LAM process. By punching high-precision registration holes after the etching process, we ensure that layer-to-layer alignment remains stable throughout the high-pressure lamination cycle.
We would like to extend a special "Thank You" to the dedicated team members who develop, refine, and support our registration solutions. Furthermore, we thank our many customers worldwide who rely on Schmoll PEP technology to achieve the highest standards of accuracy in their multi-layer production.
